JavaScript Meetup

JavaScript Meetup 7 Mar 2012 - 19:00

Registration is now open. Note: This time, we have to be strict about registrations and the registration deadline (Tuesday, February 28), in order for the catering to work out. Furthermore, you should cancel if you are not able to make it to the meetup so that someone else can take your place.

  • Andreas Breitschopp: Run Internationalized HTML5 App as Native Windows Program
In the first part of the talk a HTML5 app will be presented that uses a JavaScript library to easily localize all strings in the HTML and in the JavaScript part of the application.
At the end of the talk we will use the Intel AppUp Encapsulator to generate a MSI installation file for this app. This way the application will run natively on a Windows operating system.
  • Mario Volke: d3.js – Data-Driven Documents
D3 allows you to bind arbitrary data to a Document Object Model (DOM), and then apply data-driven transformations to the document. As a trivial example, you can use D3 to generate a basic HTML table from an array of numbers. Or, use the same data to create an interactive SVG bar chart with smooth transitions and interaction.
This Talk will introduce the library and showcase some interesting examples.

Venue opens at 19:00, talks start at 19:30. Food and drinks are sponsored by Intel GmbH.
